Property Description
Le petite bessou stands in grounds of about a hectare, in rolling countryside, amid valleys and woods. A very quiet location, away from public roads, between the BASTIDE towns of MONFLANQUIN and VILLEREAL.(both under10 minutes drive) The LOT and DORDOGNE rivers are approx. 35 minutes drive.

The Ground Floor
Lounge/Dining Room (22ft x 17ft) with 'brossage' style stone walls, oak beams and a pine ceiling. It is very comfortably furnished with seating and a dining area. There is a stone hearth with a log burning stove for cosy off-season use. There is a radio/CD/cassette player. The stylish corner kitchen (new 2004) is incorporated into the lounge and is very well equipped with hob, full size cooker, microwave and fridge. A washing machine is also provided. There are two large French doors (one facing south onto the patio) and a large window in the kitchen area making the lounge very light and airy. A TV with a SKY box for viewing English channels can be provided at no extra cost. There is a radio/CD/cassette player provided. Double Bedroom - Also on the ground floor is the main bedroom, with brossage walls and a pine ceiling. There is an en suite bathroom with shower, toilet and vanitory unit. The Second Bathroom - This is circular in shape and is a delightful conversion of the old prune oven with stone walls, oak and pine ceiling, incorporating shower, toilet and basin.
The Upper Floor
This has been tastefully modernised with pine floors and ceilings and still retains the original low oak beams. There is a double bedroom and one twin room with one full size bed and one fold-up bed. There is also another full-sized bed on the mezzanine. The bedrooms are comfortably furnished and both have two windows giving plenty of light and air.

Other details
The south-facing French doors in the lounge lead to the patio measuring 20ft x 20ft. It is well furnished with sun-beds, tables and chairs and there is a barbecue provided. There is a lovely southerly view from the patio across the valley beyond. The swimming pool is 11m x 5 m and there are roman steps offering safe access into the water. The first 4m of the pool are 1m in depth allowing safe bathing for toddlers and non-swimmers. Children can be easily supervised from the patio. The pool is kept in pristine condition. Guests renting the Cottage have EXCLUSIVE use of the swimming pool.
The gite has it's own large private gardens. There are trees to provide shade for those hot days, space to relax and a large area for children to play football, volleyball, badminton etc. Around the patio and pool there are colourful flower beds.
LA PETITE BESSOU COTTAGE benefits from it's own private access and parking. A truly excellent accommodation within a tranquil and secluded setting with beautiful views.
Rental prices/Changeover day
The rental price is from £295 (low season, price negotiable) to £895 (high season) per week.A 25% deposit is required to confirm your reservation; the balance is then payable 8 weeks before the start of your holiday. There is a £100 (returnable) security deposit payable with your balance.
Changeover/Availability is from 4pm Saturday to 10 am Saturday.
Travel times & Directions
We are located Approximately 8-10 hours from the ferry ports of Calais and Bolougne. Caen and Roscoff are 7-9 hours away (this inlcludes stopping times for lunch etc.)
AIR - there are frequent flights to BORDEAUX and TOULOUSE, both are within 2 hours. There is increasing flight availability with low cost airlines to BERGERAC, which is only 30 minutes away.
RAIL - To Bordeaux then Bergerac.
