Property Description

This house is situated on the edge of a small farming hamlet surrounded by woods, fields and the peace of the french countryside. However a few minutes drive by car will bring you to the mediaeval towns of Domme, Sarlat, Beynac. The location enables exploration of all the beautiful riverside villages on the water edge of the river Dordogne. For those who like to swim, there is a natural water lake with a silver sand beach only a 5 minute drive away. Canoes can be hired for exploration of the Dordogne River from the village of Grolejac only a further 3 minutes away. The location of this property caters for all tastes of holiday life: French market shopping, french cuisine, exploration of pre-historic caves/historical sites, canoeing, walking, cycling or just resting and relaxing in the quiet of the countryside.

Accommodation details

3 bedrooms , sleeps maximum of 6 people. Bedroom 1 - 1 Double Bed, Bedroom 2 - 2 Single Bed, wooden adult bunk beds, Bedroom 3 - 2 Single Bed, Twin beds. Double bedroom and bunk bedroom are on 1st floor next to bathroom/toilet. Twin beds are in attic room, accessed by stairs (Not suitable for the less agile). A travel cot can be supplied on request. Each bedroom has a wooden hanging rack with hangers, a bedside table, bedside lamp, small fan, waste paper bin. Linen and laundry (not towels) is included in the rental price. The kitchen has a dish washer, washing machine, fridge, 4 ring stove, microwave, grill, freezer, oven. There is one bathroom with a toilet, bath and shower. The living room has seating for 6 as does the table in the dining room. Sitting room has DVD player.

Local area

The garden and patio receive sunshine all day. barbecue, garden, parking, 6 garden chairs. For those who like to swim, there is a natural water lake with a silver sand beach only a 5 minute drive away. Canoes can be hired for exploration of the Dordogne River from the village of Grolejac only a further 3 minutes away.

Rental prices/Changeover day

Prices range from £450 - £550 per week depending on the season. The house is available from May until October.
The rental charge covers all costs. Linen is changed weekly. 50% Deposit on booking-non returnable + £100 breakage deposit (returned on no breakage) Bed linen provided. No Towels provided.
The changeover day is Monday, check-out is 10.00 and check-in is no earlier than 16.00

Travel times & Directions

By road the A20 from the north is easily accessible, we are approximately 15 miles from exit 55. Full directions will be given at time of booking
The area is easy to reach by air, road and rail. Flights from many British airports come to Bergerac (1 hour away), Bordeaux (3 hours), Limoges (90 minutes), Rodez (2 hours) and Toulouse (2 hours). Several budget airlines provide a regular service as well as the larger operators. Car hire is available from all airports. All of the channel ferry ports are within 7-10 hours. There is a rail service from Paris to Brive (1 hour away) or Gourdon (15 minutes).
