Property Description
The Haute Pyrenees are situated in a
beautiful and relatively undiscovered corner of South West France.
Only 40
minutes drive from Spain, benefiting from a Mediterranean climate
with long
summers and short sharp winters with 300 plus days of sunshine a
year. A perfect
base for exploring the region, on foot, bike or car. In winter,
skiing, (cross
country and alpine), snow shoeing, dog sledding and snowmobiling are
all
available within 45 minutes drive. A special New Years Eve stay is
available,
including a 5 course meal in the main house, please enquire for
details.
Accommodation details
Sleeps up to 3. In the sitting room there is
a cozy log fire, a sofa bed, lounge seating for two and a dining area with a
table that seats up to 4. The cabin contains a well stocked library, with over
250 books, including a foreign language section. There are also are selection of
board games, plus maps and guide books for the local area. Music cds are
supplied for the CD player. In Winter, all wood is supplied for the wood burner.
There is also a television (french channels). The kitchen is has a cooker,
fridge, freezer, kettle, toaster and iron as well as a washing machine. There is
a double bedroom, 1 bathroom and a WC. Linen and towels are provided.
Evening meals are available in the main house at 24 hours notice. Cost is €15
per person for 3 courses including wine and coffee, vegetarian meals available.

£210 - £250, Per day (for two people) £30 - £35. Minimun stay of 3
nights.
Saturday is the normal weekly changeover day, check-in time is 16:00
and check-out time is 11:00 (this is flexible and is dependant on
incoming guests).
Travel times & Directions
The A64 motorway exit is 7km from the house.
Full directions will be given when the property is booked.
Budget flights available to Toulouse and Pau with Ryanair, Easyjet
and Flybe, both these airports are within an hour's drive. Ferries
can be taken from Portsmouth to Bilbao which is about a 4 hour drive
to the property. There is a railway station at Lannemezan, which is
8km away. The channel ferry ports are within 10-12 hours drive.
