Property Description

Le Fenêt is a recently restored, 3 star rated, comfortable, modern town house. It has been lovingly created within the structure of one of the 200 year old tuffeau-stone residences that typify the Loire area. It comprises: sitting room (TV & DVD and internet access); an elegant dining room which seats 6 where there is also a double sofa bed; a fully equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer, microwave, gas cooker, & dish-washer. The kitchen provides access to the 30m² south-west facing sun-terrace. This features its own seating, a BBQ and parasol. There are 2 formal bedrooms. The master bedroom has a double bed, ample storage and has views towards the town ramparts. The second bedroom is a single room with a view over the roof-terrace. This bedroom features a tuffeau-stone fireplace. All rooms boast the high ceilings that characterise these historic buildings. A ground floor utility room has a washing machine beside which is located the garage. Included in the rental are towels, bed linen & the use of a garage. For cyclists, next to the house, there is the Loire cycle path (la Loire à vélo) and for walkers there are 35 sign-posted walks around the area.

Accommodation details

The rental charge includ a private garage, but plenty of spaces are available in the parking lot next to the house.
From the kitchen you have access to a private 30m2 terrace, where you can sit late at night in total privacy. The sun shines from morning to 17.30 in the summer months.

Local area

The accommodation is in a prime position to access the Château by foot,the market, the bars , shops (bakery,cloths and shoe shop, supermarket,organic greengrocer...),tourist information.

There are a large selection of traditional french gourmet restaurants in saumur, one of them is 500m away from our gite ("les menestrels").
Another one is situated 20 minutes walk from the house "le gambetas".
this restauarant has just been awarded a one star michelin. it is set in a traditional stone building with heigh ceiling.

We provide week-end breaks and weekly rentals.

The tariffs include all charges with the exception of the local holiday tax(levied by the town) of 0.85€ per adult per night.
Cleaning is optional 40€
