east along the scenic coastal road will take you through a series of picturesque
towns such as Villers sur Mer to the elegant Deauville and further on to the
beautiful old harbour port of Honfleur on the Seine estuary. You'll see why this
region is called the Cote Fleurie - literally the flowery coast. A drive to the
west will take you over the famous 'Pegasus Bridge' and on to the many famous
D-day landing beaches such as Courseulles sur Mer, Arromanches and Omaha along
the Cote de Nacre. From Arromanches you'll be a short drive away from the
popular Bayeux and its famous tapestry. A motorway drive from here would take
you to the 'Peripherique' around Caen and back to Dives sur Mer, but the
region's capital is also well worth a visit especially to visit the Caen
Memorial museum.
