Property Description

Tastefully restored Perigordian barn with many original features. The cottage is next to the owner's house an old traditional Perigordian house, on the edge of our 5 hectares woodland in a very tranquil situation. You will be in the middle of nature, only with birds and wildlife.

Accommodation details

Kitchen
There is a corner cuisine consisting of a white stone sink and draining board with cupboard underneath. The gas cooker has four burners, grill and oven. The fridge has a freezer compartment; there is a washing machine and shelves. There is a gas water heater. We provide cutlery, crockery, glassware, saucepans, kettle, casserole dishes, bowls, jugs etc. also a small amount of sugar, tea, coffee and herbs.

Living rooms
The cottage is on two levels; the living area on the slightly higher level combines the cuisine area, dining area and comfortable seating area. There is a small mezzanine accessed by stairs from the living area with a Velux roof-light window, pine single bed and bedside cabinet, chairs and table. The furniture in the living area consists of a comfortable cottage two-seater settee, two armchairs and coffee table, dining table and chairs, sideboard and dresser. There is a tiled floor throughout. There are two windows and a door to the garden from this area.

Bedrooms
The bedroom is reached by five steps down from the living area. The furniture consists of a comfortable character bed, two bedside cabinets and a wardrobe. There is a shower room en-suite with corner shower unit, wash basin, toilet. The floor is tiled throughout with bedside mats. There are winter and summer duvets and pillows provided, together with bedding. We provide bath and hand towels and shower room mats. For lets of more than one week, we provide clean bedding and towels each weekend.
There is also a door to the garden from this area.

Local area

The cottage has its own front garden with trees, shrubs and hanging baskets. There is a table and four chairs and parasol. A barbecue is also available. The off-road car parking area is next to the cottage. There is an unspoilt rural view from the garden across the field and down the valley.
You can see an amazing number of birds and wildlife by just sitting in the garden! This is a perfect walking area with designated paths and bridleways.

Other details

There is a large swimming lake at Tamnies just 3kms away and canoeing on both the river Dordogne and Vezere.
There are countless gardens, chateaux and prehistoric sites to visit within a short distance. A number of cultural and sporting events occur in the area each year.

Rental prices/Changeover day

The rental price of the cottage per week is from £330 to £410.
All prices shown are for rental of the property only. This includes all electricity, gas, linen and towels.
The cottage is available from 4pm Saturday to 10 am Saturday on a weekly basis.

Travel times & Directions

Full directions will be given at time of booking.
Bergerac airport with Ryanair and Flybe flights is less than an hour and a half away, Limoges, also Ryanair, is just over two hours away. Toulouse with connections worldwide is within three hours.
The newly opened airport Brive - Souillac with flights from London City Airport is only 45 minutes away.
Train stations in Perigueux, Brive la Gaillarde, Sarlat. On request it is possible to pick you up in Sarlat, there is no public transport coming to the place.
