Property Description
On the Brittany-Normandy border, ‘Le Petit
Lapin’ is located on top of a hill in the small village of Sains,
nine kilometres from the famous medieval site of Mont Saint Michel.
Renovated and furnished to a very high standard in 2002, this small
traditional Breton cottage has a lovely view over the Couesnon
Valley to the south. The village’s large playing field and outdoor
basketball court are a short walk from the cottage; there is also a
lake (for fishing, with picnic tables) a kilometre away.
Accommodation details
1 bedroom on the ground floor sleeps 2 in a
double bed. There is a cosy fully equipped kitchen with electric
cooker, oven and microware as well as a living area with a
television on which you can receive both English (satellite - free
view channels) and French programmes. A DVD, VCR, CD player and
radio are provided for your enjoyment; there is also free internet
access (via an Ethernet connection). A washing machine is also
provided for your use. The bathroom has a shower, wash basin and
W.C. The cottage has exposed beams and a wall of exposed local
granite; it is fully heated for use throughout the year.
Local area
The lively market town of Pontorson is six
kilometres to the east, while Dol de Bretagne, with its ancient
cathedral, is eight kilometres to the west. Dol additionally boasts
several fine restaurants and a public indoor swimming pool. Sandy
beaches are a thirty-minute drive from the house, as is dramatic
cliff-walking near Cancale, a town famed for its oysters. Saint
Malo, with its old walled town and a large aquarium, is also a
thirty-minute drive, as is the beautiful medieval town of Dinan.
Other details
A furnished private terrace is provided just
outside your front door with a BBQ and additional garden furniture
for your use in the adjacent apple orchard. There is private parking
in the courtyard in front of the cottage. The property is fenced in
on three sides, while the fourth side is an open field planted to
maize.

Prices per week £240 - £375
Changeover day is Saturday in season and out-of-season by
arrangement.

Malo (served by Brittany Ferries) and 30 minutes from the airport at
Dinard (served by Ryanair from Stansted).
