Ti-Bihan self catering cottage
Property Description
Off the beaten track, yet only 3km from
the nearest village, the accommodation comprises a well-equipped fitted kitchen,
shower room with wc, beamed sitting room with dining area and a loft bedroom
with king-size bed. It has its own private suntrap garden with a barbecue and
terrace for eating out. Professionally renovated, the cottage combines the
rustic charm of its origins with the efficiency of mod cons. Exposed roof
timbers and granite stones are enhanced by pale-washed walls and pine, and there
is plenty of natural light The cottage is surrounded by dairy farms, fields of
cereal crops, little streams and narrow lanes.
Accommodation details
The sitting room is furnished with easy
chairs, cottage dresser and dining table with chairs, plus DVD and selection of
tapes, radio and CD/tape player. The kitchen has ample worktops and storage
space, a large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, four-burner gas hob with
extractor fan and fan-assisted electric oven. The breakfast bar overlooks the
cottage garden. Off the kitchen is a storage cupboard for suitcases, with iron
and ironing board, and the shower room, with handbasin, washing machine, w.c.,
heated towel rail and a double-width shower compartment. Pine stairs lead from
the sitting room to the lofty galleried bedroom with a large dormer window
looking onto open countryside. There is a washbasin, wardrobe and bookshelves,
and the king-size bed has clothes drawers either side. With ceramic tiles laid
to the ground floor the cottage keeps cool in the heat of the summer, but for
chillier seasons there is electric heating throughout and a Franco Belge stove
in the sitting room
Local area
Ti-Bihan has its own private garden, laid mostly to lawn
with a herbaceous border fragrant with sweet william and foxgloves in summer. A
slabbed area near the house has a raised barbecue/cooking area and garden
equipment includes a table and chairs, parasol and deckchairs. It is very quiet and wonderful
country for walking, birdwatching or just relaxing. Yet there is a choice of
good supermarkets, bars and restaurants within a 20-minute drive, several sandy,
unspoiled beaches within 20 - 40 minutes' drive, and a wealth of places of
interest, street markets, sports and leisure activities in every direction.

Rental prices/Changeover day
Prices £190 - £375 The prices quoted are per week, based on two people sharing, and include:
Bedding (quilt, pillows) and bed linen (changed weekly); shower and hand towels
(but not beach towels); constant hot water, gas and electricity. A heating
supplement of £20 is made in winter months or if heating is required. This
includes a bag of coal for the stove.
Our start-of-holiday day is now Wednesday (not Saturday), which
means you can save money by taking advantage of cheaper travel mid-week. Ferries
and flights cost less on weekdays than at weekends, so our bookings now run from
4pm Wednesday to 10am the following Wednesday.

Ti-Bihan is 18km west of Redon between the
villages of Caden and Beganne. Contact owner for precise directions. Ti-Bihan cottage is located 2 hours from the ferry port of Saint Malo (served by Brittany Ferries) and
4 hours from Caen. We are just over an hour from the airports at Rennes and
Nantes.
